Collaboration with Mongolia Continues

MVDr. Jan Bernardy, Ph.D. from the Veterinary Research Institute and Mgr. Arnošt Marks, Ph.D. paid a visit to the attaché of the Mongolian Embassy Prof. Ing. Kheruugu Tumurbataar, Ph.D. within the framework of the ongoing international collaborative project for assisting Mongolian veterinarians which is supported by the Aid for Trade programme of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.

The purpose of the meeting was to establish the engagement objectives of the Mongolian and Czech parties in the field of veterinary science after the end of this project. The primary focuses of collaboration include cattle care and the production of safe food of animal origin under nomadic conditions in relation to the advancement of diagnostic methods/screening tests and disease monitoring. Long-term training programmes in cattle care designed for Mongolian veterinarians, potentially extended to breeders and herdsmen were also discussed. The long-term goal is to create a platform for training Mongolian colleagues in cattle care (good husbandry practices) and diagnostics - e.g. antimicrobial resistance with involvement of additional institutions in the Czech Republic.
