World Veterinary Day

On July 9, 2025, we commemorate World Veterinary Day – an annual opportunity to recognize the demanding and invaluable work of all veterinarians who care for animal health and welfare, food safety, and public health. This day is not only a celebration, but also a chance to raise awareness – highlighting the breadth and complexity of veterinary medicine and the essential role veterinarians play in protecting public health, ensuring food safety, and promoting animal welfare.

This year’s international theme is: “Animal Health Takes a Team.” It highlights the crucial role not only of veterinarians, but also of veterinary nurses, technicians, researchers, and other professionals in the multidisciplinary One Health approach.

As a veterinary research institute, we play an important role in supporting this team-based approach. Our work focuses on developing new diagnostic and treatment methods, promoting the prevention and control of animal diseases and zoonoses transmissible to humans, providing professional education to future generations, and sharing knowledge across institutions.

Close cooperation among scientists, researchers, and clinical professionals enables us to respond more effectively to both current and emerging threats to animal and human health.

Today, we extend our thanks to all our colleagues – from scientists and clinical professionals to technicians, PhD students, and other collaborators – for their commitment, expertise, and passion for veterinary medicine. Your daily work provides protection and safety not only for animals, but for society as a whole.
