On December 11, 2024, a meeting of the Council of the National Centre for Biotechnology in Veterinary Medicine (NaCeBiVet) took place at the Veterinary Research Institute. One of the key points of the meeting was the discussion of the Annual Report on the Council's activities for 2023 and 2024, which was unanimously approved by the members present. The meeting also included a presentation of the activities undertaken by the Centre as part of the strategic project for 2024, with a comprehensive evaluation of their outcomes. Key points comprised the planning of the Central European Veterinary Congress, scheduled for April 29, 2025. Effort towards the effective commercialization of the Centre’s outcomes in collaboration with commercial partners was also emphasized. Furthermore, the Council discussed the ongoing projects in the field of biotechnology, totalling twenty, with the expected applied results of 2024 realised. As part of the implementation plans, procedures for commercialisation of these results and opportunities for collaboration with the application guarantor were discussed. The members were informed about the ongoing collection of descriptions of partial 2024 projects, which will subsequently be sent for evaluation. Finally, a discussion was initiated regarding the opening of registration for the third round of the internal call for proposals of partial projects for 2025. When creating it, the Centre's budgets and the absorption capacity of the research teams will be taken into account.
