On August 29, 2025, Natálie Králová successfully defended her dissertation entitled "Modern methods of diagnosis, therapy and prevention of Streptococcus suis infections" at the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University. The thesis was written under the supervision of MVDr. Ján Matiašovic, Ph.D., at the Department of Infectious Diseases and Preventive Medicine, in collaboration with SVÚ Jihlava, as part of projects QK1810193, RO0523, and TN02000017. The benefit for animal breeders is the first systematic mapping of the epizootological situation of Streptococcus suis in the Czech Republic and the expansion of diagnostic tools.
Natálie will continue her work on Streptococcus suis in a post-doc position at the Université de Montréal in Canada. We wish her much success.
