Prof. RNDr. Daniel Růžek, Ph.D. and Mgr. Fořtová, Ph.D. were presented with the award of the Minister of Health for a project that had received an excellent evaluation outcome. It is a project of the Grant Agency for Health Research of the Czech Republic, entitled: "Genetic Basis of the Clinical Course and Severity of Tick-Borne Encephalitis", implemented by the Veterinary Research Institute as the principal investigator, with the University Hospital Brno and the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences as co-investigators. "In my view, this award is a recognition of work of the entire team, including scientists, technicians, and students. Without their contributions, there would not be an award at all!" remarks Prof. Růžek. Mgr. Fořtová commented on the award: "I am delighted with the award, as it signifies that we are conducting high quality research."
