The Veterinary Research Institute and the Czech-Moravian Union of Agricultural Entrepreneurs signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on 7 July 2026 with the aim of strengthening the long-term links between veterinary research and the needs of Czech agriculture. The partnership establishes a framework for joint activities in applied research, innovation, and the effective transfer of scientific knowledge directly into agricultural practice.
The Memorandum is based on the shared belief that close collaboration between research institutions and agricultural enterprises is essential for strengthening the competitiveness of Czech agriculture, improving farm animal health, and accelerating the adoption of innovative solutions in everyday practice.
“Our goal is to ensure that research results do not remain solely in scientific publications but genuinely support agricultural and veterinary practice. Connecting science with practice is the key to achieving modern, competitive, and sustainable agriculture,” said Martin Faldyna, Director of the Veterinary Research Institute.
The cooperation established through the Memorandum will focus primarily on the preparation of joint research and innovation projects, the validation of research results directly under the operational conditions of agricultural enterprises, the sharing of expertise and experience, and the organization of seminars, workshops, and other educational activities. Another important area of cooperation will be the joint efforts to find solutions to the current challenges in Czech agriculture, including farm animal health, biosecurity, sustainable production, and reducing the use of antimicrobials.

We are convinced that close collaboration with a leading research institution will help accelerate the transfer of research findings into agricultural practice and enable our members to better respond to evolving conditions and market requirements,” said Jiří Michalisko, Chairman of the Czech-Moravian Union of Agricultural Entrepreneurs.
The Memorandum establishes a framework for long-term cooperation based on regular consultations, joint professional activities, and the implementation of specific projects. The Memorandum does not establish any financial obligations between the two institutions; however, it creates a framework for the development of joint initiatives where appropriate expertise, human resources, and financial conditions are available.
