VRI receives positive Interim Assessment from the European Commission for Human Resources Strategy for Researchers implementation

The Veterinary Research Institute has received the HR Excellence in Research Award since 2022, which confirms its commitment to transparent and effective human resources management. The Institute has recently received positive assessment (HRS4R Interim Assessment) from the European Commission, which confirms the high level of implementation of this strategy in managing human resources for researchers. The evaluators acknowledged the progress achieved and confirmed the proper implementation of commitments to improving the working environment for employees and overall alignment with European standards in the field of human resources management.

"Our goal is to maintain a positive working environment where mutual respect, recognition, and support for further development are evident. It is the responsibility of each of us to contribute in small ways to creating an atmosphere of respect and mutual support," says Ing. Jiří Kolísek, the main coordinator of HR activities at VRI, adding, "I am very pleased with the positive evaluation of our efforts. In the report we were also provided with several valuable suggestions on how to proceed further, and we appreciate this feedback."

In connection with the further implementation of the HR Award Action Plan, the preparation of the significant project proposal "Development of a Sustainable Environment for Veterinary Research at VRI" was completed at the end of 2024. The project proposal for special support was submitted under the OP JAK Research Environment Call and represents a comprehensive approach to developing and strengthening research activities at VRI, including human resources capacity. In the case of a successful evaluation of this proposal, a significant advancement in the implementation of the Institute’s Action Plan and support for employee development is expected.

"Every positive evaluation moves our Institute forward, and we are delighted with the assessment from the European Commission," says the Director of VRI, MVDr. Martin Faldyna, Ph.D. "It is confirmation that we are moving in the right direction in this area. We will keep striving to enhance working conditions for our employees and creating an inspiring and stimulating environment for excellent research."
